Hello and welcome to the Couple’s Coaching Corner! I’m here to help you develop skills for creating satisfying, healthy relationships and/or provide mediation services.

I earned my master’s degree in organizational psychology (a subfield of social psychology) at the University of West Florida and my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Arizona State University. After graduate school, I took an interest in mediation, communication, and conflict resolution; so I went on to attain hundreds of hours in related training. Additionally, I have certificates of training completion in Conflict Coaching from Peace Maker Ministries, Gottman’s Seven Principles Leader, and Nonviolent Communication from Dr. Marshall Rosenberg. 

I’ve worked as a mediator, parenting coordinator, parenting supervisor, and conflict resolution and communication coach and trainer for 18 years. I’m passionate about helping people improve the quality of their lives by learning to resolve conflict constructively and enhance their interpersonal and communication skills.

The relationship coaching, I provide draws largely on Drs. John and Julie Gottman’s work.  Dr. Gottman has identified through his fascinating research the seven principles for making marriage work.  I’ll help you to understand and practice those principles and learn to avoid the pitfalls that lead to unhappiness and break-ups.

I also draw upon Dr. Daniel Goleman’s work on Emotional Intelligence and Dr. Marshall Rosenberg’s work on Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life (NVC). Dr. Rosenberg teaches about the relationship amongst our met and unmet needs, our feelings and consequently our behavior and words we speak. 

In addition to coaching, I mediate family, divorce, post-divorce, parenting issues, business, and special education disputes. I am a Florida Certified Family Mediator.

On a more personal note, I’ve been married to my wonderful husband Robert since graduating from high school. We have grown twin sons, Clint and Jared, and one grandson, Ethan. We also have a kitten named Georgie, we brought him back from St Georges, Grenada; and a Maltese/ShihTzu puppy named Lola. They’ve become best friends, and their shenanigans definitely keep us entertained!
